We congratulate - our new Dr. rer nat. Blume:
On Friday, May 23rd, our doctoral student Lukas Blume successfully defended his thesis on the role of the immunoproteasomal subunit LMP7 in (glomerular) endothelial cells. In this final talk he presented some of the insights gained over the last five years and critically discussed the results afterwards. The following celebrations with colleagues, family and friends were well deserved. Congratulations, Lukas!

A new face in the lab:
Recently Rebecca Braun joined our lab, a third year medical student at the UKE. She started a project about immunoproteasomal impact on membrane trafficking pathways in endothelial cells and focusses on Live Cell Imaging Microscopy, cell culture and protein analysis. After learning biochemistry as well as physiology at the university and completing an internship at the CSSB about the proteasome, she is very enthusiastic about research.
